THE SPANISH DEBACLE: A Team Without Jesus and the Cost of Costa.

If you don't believe in curses, ask Benfica. The La Rojas have been cursed! What went wrong? That's the intriguing question hanging from every lips. Now this is suppose to be Brazil of all places. The home of wantaway Diego Costa who was apparently lured and brought into the World Cup team at the expence of Jesus.

Indeed, there are more to see than what meets the eyes.

Supposing it was yesterday you had picked up a drunkard - soaked with liquor and in another manner you drew aside a sane man. Now, you had required of them to predict the probable scoreline of yesterday's match. I can bet my blog! They would never have envisioned a 6 goals thriller! Not with 5 going beyond the reach of Iker Casillas and his rock solid back four.

The whitewash of the suppose World Champions, the La Roja by a monsterous team of flying Dutchmen - with some of World Cup's finnest goals is not a possibility everyone is priviledge to savour in his lifetime. Such unprecedented actuality is better served in ones wild fantasy.

The Spanish fortress was torn apart! Their cords of supremacy and football credibility was broken asunder in the most bizzare circumstance. And only tears from potential legends like Iker Casillas and a sorrow laden appearance of Vincent Del Bosque could have ended such debacle. But wait!

"If you don't believe in the possibility of some external - totally non-footballing influence, I would advise not to bother reading any further. Diego Costa

At this juncture, it's hard to believe the host country Brazil, the land and it inhabitants still harbour any goodwill for the La Roja. Not after their own son Diego Costa abandoned the Samba Boys, clinging to the Spanish side instead and they did so wrong to glorify their spoil by bring him back to his fathers house as their own. They intended to probably show much disdane to the sensibility of Brazilians by fielding him straight up in their first battle. It seems perfect at the onset, he even created the penalty but it was destined to spell doom. Diego Costa was booed away after substitution just as Arjen Robben booed the spanish rear guard. It was destined never to end well with Costa in Brazil. The people and the land will always abhor their success. Mark my words.

A Team Without Jesus

Jesus Navas

I'm one of those that presume the downfall of the Del Bosque dynasty after perusing the 23 man list. Where was Jesus Navas? Of course that injury wouldn't have hampered his play. Navas harbour plenty of flair and would keep a defence busy with his speed and skills. He provides a handful of option to the team and would have made it on time for the final group matches, but NO! Someone had to pay the cost for a tactless Costa that offers no vitality and versatality. And it had to be Jesus!
